Mission and Vision

Building a Brighter Future for Foster Teens

Since 2009, Flint Hills Foster Teen Camps (FHFTC) has been reaching out to teens who have been abused, neglected, abandoned, and find themselves navigating the complexities of the foster care system in Kansas. FHFTC is more than a camping experience. It is more than getting together for a fun outing. Our camps provide a place where foster teens feel a sense of belonging. Where they can relax from the stress of their uncertain lives while they build trust and discover hope. FHFTC is a division of Living Water Ranch, a Kansas non-profit 501c3 organization.

Our Story

Empowering Foster Teens for Over 15 Years

In 2009, Mike and Lisa Irvin, inaugural FHFTC Directors, saw there was a tremendous need for a program that surrounds foster teens in a positive setting, a place where they build confidence and discover pathways for a brighter future.

Living Water Ranch, the home of Flint Hills Foster Teen Camps, is also the location for a camp designed to support foster kids from ages 6 to 11. Through this partnership, the Ranch was approached about launching a camp for foster teens ages 12 to 15. The idea sparked a passion that has grown to become FHFTC through years of experience and time investing in teens.

The mission of FHFTC is simple but challenging: That each young person whose life has been affected by the foster care system would leave FHFTC with greater self-confidence, trust in others and hope for their future!
